ABOUT NORBURY PARK

Norbury Park care home is an independent organisation which has been established to provide a safe and caring environment for extremely vulnerable children with challenging behaviours and mental health difficulties. Our goal is to influence their prospects and enable them to live the most independent and fulfilled life that they can, within a nurturing environment. We provide a bespoke service where our children have access to 1:1 support with qualified therapists, mentor services, education tutors and careers advisors. It is important to us that our children can have access to the necessary support in house which will allow them the best chance of success.

We are committed to empowering those in our care through our six core principles which derive from The National Centre of Trauma Informed Care (NCTIC):

  • Safety

  • Trustworthiness and Transparency

  • Peer Support

  • Collaboration

  • Empowerment

  • Cultural Appreciation

We believe that by following NCTIC advice the correct environment and support can allow individuals to overcome adverse childhood experiences (ACE’s). We therefore have created a calm residential space and employ a staff team who are trained to model and encourage appropriate behaviour's to ensure successful independent individuals.

We model our service with respect for each child’s:

  • Rights

  • Individuality

  • Dignity

  • Privacy

  • Independence and choices

We have staff who are stationed on all floors that are dedicated and trained to work closely with our children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our child-centred support is tailored to the needs of the young person. This allows us to be flexible and meet the needs of those with diagnosed or undiagnosed SEMH and/or challenging behaviour. We pride ourselves on working with children who have been deemed as “hard to reach”.
